What to do in class:
Take notes
o Write down key words-usually bolded in your textbooks
o Write out definitions
o Use highlighters if you are able to write in your books
o Use abbreviations to save writing time
Pay attention in class!
Ask your teacher for help if you have questions or are lost
Study for upcoming tests/quizzes during your free time
What to do at home:
Find a quiet place to study
o Make a sign or door knob holder to show others to let you study quietly
How to study:
o Review your notes-Read through a few times
o Review study guide questions in your textbooks-questions at the end of chapters/sections
o Quiz yourself
o Study with a group and quiz each other
o Make a game of it! Studying can be fun J
Ex: Jeopardy
o Memorize key words and definitions
o Use flash cards
o Break up study time over a few days
o Do not cram the night before a test
